What is ShopSmart?

ShopSmart is an on demand restaurant and grocery delivery service. We connect users to their favorite local grocery stores and restaurants that don’t normally deliver.

You simply place your order through us and we assign you to your very own SmartShopper in your area. Our SmartShoppers visit your favorite local grocery stores and restaurants. They will deliver in the time frame that you choose, even in as little as 1 hour!

How long has ShopSmart been in business?

ShopSmart Launched in March of 2014.

What stores are supported?

ShopSmart will deliver any of your favorite restaurants to your front door!  We will go to your favorite grocery store and shop for your entire list.  We deliver from gas stations, liquor stores, retail stores, malls etc.  You name the place and we will go there for you!

Our SmartShoppers shop at local super markets, retail stores, liquor stores and restaurants in your area. We do shopping on your behalf.  These stores can include (but not limited to) Jewel-Osco, McDonald's, Mariano's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Pete's Fresh Mart, Food 4 Less and or Walmart.

Restaurants are added daily so be sure to check our restaurant section to find your restaurant.  Just because a restaurant is not listed on our site doesn't mean we don’t deliver from there.  We deliver from anywhere that accepts Visa cards. 

If you don’t see the restaurant that you want to order from, please give us a call to place a custom order.  Or go to the “I Don’t See my Restaurant” icon and type in the Restaurant you want and the food you want to order.

We are a start-up company that ties customers with SmartShoppers, to facilitate your shopping experience. ShopSmart is not endorsed or affiliated with many of these stores.

What are your hours of operation?

Our hours are similar to your local grocery store and restaurants. We deliver from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm Monday - Saturday and we are closed on Sunday. We stop taking orders at 9:30 pm however you can place your order after hours for the following day.

FYI, the business you’re ordering from also has to be open in order for us to shop there for you.

Do you service my area?

We are currently servicing Calumet City, Lansing, Harvey, Riverdale, Hammond IN., Dolton & South Holland!  We are expanding quickly and other areas will be in operation very soon! We do not ship any items, we only deliver.

How fast do you deliver?

You tell us, we work for you!  We can deliver as quickly as you would like! You can choose delivery times in as little as 1-3 hours windows for grocery delivery.

Restaurant delivery can be delivered in under an hour however it is not a guarantee. The vast majority of our orders are completed in under an hour.  In some cases, certain order do tend to take longer due to circumstances beyond our control such as traffic, weather, long lines and freight trains in some areas.

Our shoppers will have it delivered asap and will maintain constant contact with you regarding delays.

How much is shopping and delivery?

Restaurant Delivery is $5.00

Grocery Delivery is $9.99 

Liquor Delivery is $5,00      

Extra Stop Fee is $2.99

Extra Mile Fee is $1.50 (per mile over 4 miles from you to the store/restaurant)

Phone Order Fee $1.25 

* There is no minimum order for shopping and delivery

EBT Express Pricing:

$0 to $100 = Delivery Fee $15

$101 to $150 = Delivery Fee $20

$151 to $200 = Delivery Fee $25

$201 to $400 = Delivery Fee $30

$401 to $500 = Delivery Fee $40

What are Additional Fees I should know about?

There are 4 additional fees.

1. Extra Stop Fee:

This fee is applied when a SmartShopper makes an extra stop at a grocery store, an extra restaurant or gas station. In addition to your order per your request.

(Example) You place a restaurant order and you also want a case of pop from a grocery store.

2. Extra Mile Fee:

This fee is applied when you want your order from somewhere that is over 4 miles or out of your local coverage area.

(Ex.) You stay in Dolton and you want an order from The Cheesecake Factory in Orland Park

3. Phone Transaction Fee:

This fee is applied when you call in your order and place it with one of our call center representatives.  

(Ex.) Instead of putting your order in though our free app in the Google Play or Apple App Stores or via the website, you call in and speak to our representatives. 

4. $3 Service Fee

This a fee is applied to all orders. This is how ShopSmart covers operational expenses. 

What is Estimate Pricing?

We have no way for us to know the exact price of each item in your local supermarket or restaurant as we are not affiliated with them.  The stores have various sales or specials on different occasions and restaurants increase their pricing sometimes without warning.

Our pricing on each product is an estimate of what most local grocery stores charge and the menus from the restaurant. ShopSmart will only charge you what the actual store charge is plus our fees and delivery, once your items have been purchased.

Why are your prices different from the store?

ShopSmart's pricing could be lower or similar to your local supermarket prices. Our pricing is an estimate of what most local stores charge. You get all the sale prices of your local grocery store nothing more, nothing less.  The same holds true for restaurants. 

(Credit/Debit Orders Only)

When you check out with pay with card, your driver will have a square device to swipe your card upon delivery. Please have your card and ID ready.

ShopSmart does not raise the price for food the restaurant or grocery store sales. We charge you what is on the receipt plus a $3 service fee, any applicable fees and delivery or any special requests/additions. 

ShopSmart reserves the right to ask for photo ID for any credit/debit payments.


Paying in cash has limitations. We have a $50 max limit for cash orders. If you go over that limit you must use our credit or debit feature and insert your credit card info. If you pay in cash you will receive a cash receipt from ShopSmart with the cost. You will also receive the receipt from the store you choose. 

For First Time Customers you must go through a verification process to use cash. This is for the safety of our SmartShoppers. You will be asked to take a picture of your ID with your phone and send it to Ids@shopsmart.biz.  You can also send the copy of your ID to your shopper and they can forward it to the Ids@shopsmart.biz.  This is to make sure you are who you say you are and to verify your delivery address. Your shopper may also ask you to provide your location via glimpse text app. This allows you and the shopper to view each other in real time.

You will not have to go though this verification if you use our credit or debit feature.

Why do I need to send in my ID?

You may be asked to send in your State ID or divers license to IDS@ShopSmart.biz. You can be asked this if it is a credit/ debit order or a cash order.  This is a security measure to ensure you are who you say you are or that you are over 21 years of age for liquor purchases,  

We may ask for this information in higher crime rate areas to ensure the safety of our divers.  This can be asked at anytime.  Your information will not be shared. 

If you refuse a request to send in your ID your order will be canceled. This is to help prevent fraud and suspicious activity.

Can I place orders other than online?

Yes, orders can be placed via our mobile app located in the Google Play and Apple App Store for free download!  You can also call us and place your order for convenience! 

From the app or website, you would choose the tab Restaurant Delivery or Grocery Delivery to start your order.  You can choose the items/restaurants you want and add them to your cart.  Once you are done you will hit the Shopping Cart to check out!  


How do I make a change to my order?

Your SmartShopper will contact you once they receive your order for confirmation of the items and your delivery address. You can easily inform them of any changes you will like made at that time. 


What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your order at any time before your SmartShopper starts your order without a penalty. You can get a full refund or a credit for use with your next order. 

If your SmartShopper has contacted you to confirm they have started shopping for you and you fail to cancel your order, there will be a $20 fee for cancellation. This fee will also be charged if you cancel during delivery of the order to you.

How do I report a problem with my order?

If there is any problem with your order, please let us know immediately by calling us or by contacting your shopper directly.  For restaurant orders please contact us within 30 minutes of receiving your order via phone. 

We ask that your purchase be in its original, returnable condition for all claims, which means uneaten for food orders.

What if I can't find an item in your store inventory?

During check out you can provide us with detailed information regarding your missing item in the "Additional Questions" field.

Can I specify what Grocery Store I want my SmartShopper to go to?

Yes, your shopshopper will call you as soon as your order is received and ready for ordering.  During this initial call, you can advise your shopper where you would like your grocery shopping done.

What types of payment do you accept?

ShopSmart accepts all major US credit and debit cards. We also accept cash payments up to $50 and EBT/link card payments up to $500.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience as we’re currently not optimized for store gift cards, coupons, PayPal or any other forms of payment not mentioned above.

Why am I getting charged more than once on my card?

Like a rental car place, gas station or hotel, ShopSmart temporarily authorizes your card for the estimated cart total. 

Once your order is delivered, we adjust the final charge for your order based on your original store receipt that you receive. 

You may see a second charge on your card for the difference between the amount that was authorized and the amount that was actually charged on your actual receipt. If the receipt turns out to be more then what we estimated it to be then we may charge your card second time.

When will I receive a refund?

Refunds typically take between 3-7 business days to process.  If you do not see the refund reflected on your account, please give us a call to ensure the refund was processed.  Then please contact your bank directly regarding their policies on refunds as in some cases, it may take up to 2-3 weeks.

What is a SmartShopper?

A SmartShopper is your personal shopper!  Our trained SmartShoppers are screened and qualified to shop for and deliver your groceries. Your SmartShopper will ensure you get the freshest foods available by checking for the latest expiration dates, and the freshest produce as if they are shopping for themselves. We pride ourselves on your customer experience. 

Should I tip my SmartShopper?

Yes, tipping your SmartShopper is recommended as recognition for their hard work and dedication to ensuring you have an exceptional customer experience. 100% of the tip goes to your Shopper.  You can tip in cash or via the site while placing your order.

How do I check the status of my order?

You can check the status of your order by contacting your SmartShopper! Your SmartShopper will be able to inform you about your personalized order. You can also check your email or glimpse for the status.

What is a Glimpse and why is my shopper sending it to me?

Once your SmartShopper has completed your order and is on the way, you are sent a glimpse to see where your shopper is and how long it will take to get to your home.  You will see a live - up to the minute GPS location of your shopper.
